Operation Christmas Child

The mission of Operation Christmas Child is to demonstrate God’s love in a tangible way to children in need around the world. Through this project, Samaritan’s Purse partners with the local church worldwide to share the Good News of Jesus Christ and make disciples of the nations.

More than 10.5 Million shoeboxes were packed and gifted in 2021.

When the shoeboxes are delivered, the recipient community is also invited to participate in The Greatest Journey, a follow-up discipleship course for shoebox recipients. Since 2009, 30.9 million children have enrolled in this 12-lesson program to learn how to follow Christ and share Him with others. As a result of this ever-expanding witness, new churches are starting and communities are being transformed!

Tracy Church has been participating in Operation Christmas Child since 2018.  We try and make sure each box contains school supplies, craft items, a toy or stuffed animal, an outfit, and a new pair of shoes (if they fit!). Those boxes are filled to the brim with as much as we can fit in there. We also include a photo of the congregation with a letter from our church letting the child know where in the world their box started and that we are praying for them.

Despite being a small congregation, Tracy Church has been able to pack over 300 boxes each year. We packed over 500 boxes in 2021 and we packed 639 boxes for Christmas 2023!  With the help of our friends, families, and community, we always have a great turnout to help pack, pray over, and send the boxes on their way to deserving children worldwide.
